Starter 16- Mini Critique (15 min-ish)
SHARE your Data That Matters with the person next to you. Read their paragraphs for the FIRST piece of data they’ve analyzed only. Then leave THREE comments.

1. ONE comment should be something positive. Use the following structure: “It was effective when you ________________ here, because ____________________.”
2. TWO comments should be improvements or revisions. Use the following structure: “You should _______________ here, because _________________.”
3. Make sure you are looking for specifics- help them see where they missed things or where their writing is unclear!

Review the goals for today with them, and the tasks for today. As they work, walk around and check in, make sure they are making progress! Offer advice as needed, and as you feel comfortable.

Goals for Today

1. Write your analysis for the third piece of data.
2. Remember, the 3rd piece does not have to be statistical.  It COULD be in numbers, or it could be in words. Totally your choice! For this piece you do NOT need to include the details paragraph (Kyle's piece).
3. Thursday you will be working on writing the conclusion paragraph and doing critiques. 
4. Don’t forget that tomorrow is Wednesday- see you 2nd period for research question conferences and work time on research phase 2! 
5. Writing goals are DUE TOMORROW. Don’t forget!
