In-Text Citations, Setting up Quotes, and Writing

Announcements:

NO LIBRARY WEDNESDAY! We will be on campus this Wednesday. That means that most of you will need to be here at 8:24. Refamiliarize yourself with the Wednesday schedule and don't be late!
SPAM 2: Remember, the SPAM 2 forms are due to me by Friday at 3:30. If you still don't have your meeting scheduled, do it now!

SPAM 3 Email (if you didn't already do this yesterday)

Read the SPAM 3 Email Guidelines carefully- make sure you know when your meeting needs to happen.
Write and send the email for SPAM 3 to your advisor. Remember, this is by far the most labor intensive meeting for them--make sure you give them at least a few days to read and comment on your draft before your meeting.

Graduation Committee Survey: If you haven't taken it yet, take a moment and take the survey! This gives you a voice in such key decisions as "Should faculty walk in to The Office soundtrack, or to the Imperial March played on the recorder?", "Should we have flower that smells disgusting, just to mess with people?" and "Should we make Michaelan rap the National Anthem?"

Starter:

Read over the rubric for the Senior Thesis (linked on the Senior Project page of my DP).
Write down any questions/confusions you have
Review with Lori, get your questions answered!

What Makes a Good Introduction?
Follow the directions on the handout you were given (linked on the Senior Project page if you were absent), to analyze good introductions of past papers, and come up with strategies for your own introduction.

Work Time!

Outline Conferences- I will call you up to talk to me about your outline, and to suggest potential revisions.
Writing GOAL- Complete Part 1 (your introduction) of your thesis. If you finish, move on to Part 2 and beyond! The big goal this week is to get as much written of this sucker as humanly possible.

SPAM 2: Remember, before you do SPAM 2, your outline must be complete! It should be done next week. The form is due to me no later than 3:30 on Friday.
Done with your outline early? Email it to me and your Senior Project Advisor, then come conference with me so we can move you to writing early!
