Start Your Research! I suggest finding at least 2-3 articles to get you started before you start your deep reading. So spend today using the abstract and conclusion to sift through the articles you find. HOMEWORK Find at LEAST one good source from an academic journal or publication. ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Starter 1: Independent Work Survey Take the survey linked above! Make sure the click the "send me a copy of my results" button at the bottom of the page before you submit- we'll be coming back to these later! We'll review the results as a class, and then in pairs you'll discuss the following things:
Check in- With your table group, check in about the current state of your research question, project, etc. What feedback did you get from your POL? What work have you done since then? How are you feeling about your readiness to jump into research? Update Research Question/Project Document Update the document above with your post-POL research question and project. Info Dump: Review Deadlines, Honors, Expectations, etc.
Using the Library Database Follow along with Lori into the magical world of the Durango Public Library's academic database! HOMEWORK Find (but don't read) 3-5 potential sources that seem to be about your general topic. Have them bookmarked in the library folder so that you can easily access them at the start of class tomorrow. Seniors!
