Announcements:  MODEL SENATE SCHEDULE
  1. Tuesday:  Normal Classes
  2. 3. Thursday:  Seniors go to their normal electives 1st and 2nd period.  Model Senate from 10:30-12 and 1:00-2:15.  Seniors go to normal 7th period class.
  4. Friday:  Classes as normal, but on the Wednesday schedule (only cores, no electives).  Model Senate at Noble Hall on Fort Lewis Campus from 5:00-8:00 pm.

REMEMBER:  YOU MUST BE IN EXHIBITION DRESS WHEN MODEL SENATE IS IN SESSION!

Speech Work Time:
Take 20 minutes to work on your speech.  Tighten up the language, add an introduction or a strong conclusion, add evidence/research, etc.  Think you're done?  Come talk to Lori.

Speech Practice/Critique:
I will pair you up.  Stand up and give your speech to your partner while they time you.  When you are done, they should verbally give you feedback on the following:
  1. How could they improve the performance aspect of this speech (body language, volume, pacing, etc.)?  Remember, we will NOT have microphones on Wednesday or Thursday!
  2. If their speech was TOO LONG:  What do you think they should cut?
  3. If their speech was TOO SHORT:  What could they add?  What was missing?
  4. What was the strongest part of their speech?  Why?
  5. What most needs to be improved in terms of the content of their speech?  How could they improve this?

EXHIBITION PREP:  Follow the Checklist!
See checklist for what you need to accomplish individually and as a class for Exhibition.  ALL of this needs to be done by the end of class.

HOMEWORK:
  • Bring Exhibition dress with you (or just wear it)
  • Make sure you are ready to go for tomorrow!
