Speech Critiques, Placards, and PLP

11/18/2016

By the end of class....
  • Email me the revised draft of your speech
  • Put your printed placard (on regular paper, I'll have cardstock to glue it to on Tuesday after break) in your Model Senate Folder, then put the folder back in the box.

Senior POLs Guidelines (make a copy of this, and add it to your Drive)
  • Feel free to look over this if you want and do some more research over Thanksgiving but we will have Monday-Friday of the second week after Thanksgiving to work on these in Humanities.  Your POLs will take place the last week of the semester before winter break.  You will be required to participate in a critique panel for a number of students during that week.
  • This document is also linked on the Senior Project page of my DP.  Please MAKE A COPY of it before you start editing it!

Agenda
  1. Peer Critique
    1. When you are done, if you feel your speech needs a lot of work, sign up for a conference with me . If you think your speech is in good shape, carry on with your revisions and placard design.
    2. Lobbyists/Experts, same critique guidelines apply to your speech, just substitute "industry's perspective" for "Senator's perspective".
  2. Make your placard!  See the Mack Daddy packet for guidelines and rubric.
  3. Refine your speech
  4. Work on writing an amendment if you're planning to propose one

HOMEWORK:
None!  Enjoy your break- we'll be plunged into Exhibition craziness when you return!
