Speechwriting and Mocket

IMPORTANT SCHEDULE STUFF FOR WEDNESDAY (tomorrow)

• ALL seniors need to be here from 10:00-12:00 tomorrow.  We will be meeting in the Commons, then splitting into committees.  
• If you are a specialty role (except lobbyists and experts), you need to be here from 9:30-12:00 tomorrow.  Meet in Lori's room at 9:30.

The Mocket
For our Mocket activity tomorrow, you will printed copies of the following:

1. The Mocket bills
   1. Bill 1: Climate Change Committee (Segregation of Animas High School by Age Class)
   2. Bill 2: College Debt Committee (Equal Opportunity for Upper Lot Parking)
   3. Bill 3: Immigration Committee (The Removal of Middle Schoolers from Facebook)
2. Parly Pro Guidelines (see docs page for this, or your hard copy)
3. Mocket Schedule
4. Pen or pencil
5. A sense of humor

Speech Writing
See the documents page for your speech guidelines and assessments.  By the end of class today, you should...

1. Watch at least two videos of your senator speaking.  Take note of the following, as you'll want to imitate them as closely as possible!
   1. Speaking style
   2. Mannerisms (verbal and physical)
   3. Word choice/phrases
   4. Accent
   5. Physical posture/gestures
2. Have your speech thesis written
3. Have your entire speech either outlined or drafted

HOMEWORK:  
Write your speech thesis, and outline two paragraphs before class Thursday.
