TED Prep - Day 7 - Example + Group Critiques

DUE DATES- ON TIME- HUMANITIES​​​​​​​​
  1. Lori's Pod Thesis Revisions. DUE: See linked document here. Google Classroom.
  2. TED Talk Slides. DUE: Midnight the day before TED Talks. Share with Lori and Grayson.

DUE DATES- LATE (-10%)​​​​​
  1. TED Talk Outlines. LAST DAY TO TURN IN: Friday, 3/29, 3:30 PM. Google Classroom. 

Reminders:
  1. GO TO ELECTIVE CLASSES. This will be expected through the end of the year.
  2. Professional Dress is REQUIRED. Don’t fail your TED Talk because you couldn’t get it together to dress nicely.  See us if you need help or particular items of clothing!  NO JEANS.  NO TENNIS SHOES. SHOWER.
  3. Check the TED Talk and Paneling Schedule. One more time.  Make sure you know paneling and presentation times!  All will be done in Lori’s classroom.
  4. Cap and Gown Orders due TOMORROW. See Libby’s email for details!

2nd Period- Full class critique of volunteer- Zoell
  1. Set up a panel.  Get 5 student volunteer panelists.
  2. Everyone fills out a rubric during the talk.
  3. After the talk, let the student stay in for discussion. With panel (and other student input), score each section of the rubric.
  4. Stop for meta-commentary at various times- before paneling, etc.

Starter
Take 5 minutes to write down revisions and changes you want to make to your TED talk based on what you saw this morning.  Think about organization, audience interest, content, Q&A prep, etc. 

Split Time between Kyle and Lori’s class for periods 3/4
Group Critiques
Get into your critique group.  You should run 2 critiques today.

5th Period
Individual help from Lori, Grayson, Kyle. Independent work time on TED Talks.
