TED Talk Practice and Room Setup

8:30-9:00- All Seniors in Commons

1. Review the week and tasks for today
2. Dress code—BRING IT.  No sneakers, no jeans.  Brush your hair, kids.
3. Paneling Expectations and Schedule

 
9:00-11:30- Practice Time
Meet with your Critique Groups.  Run through your entire talk as you plan to give it, with visuals, multimedia, etc.  Get feedback from your group, and make a plan for revision/rehearsal.

Go to the rooms below first for attendance, then you can move throughout the buildings to practice.  BE ON CAMPUS until 11:30, please.

1. Kyle’s Room:  Groups 1, 2, 3, 4
2. Dave’s Room:  Groups 5, 6, 7, 8
3. Lori’s Room:  Groups 9, 10, 11, 12, 13

 
11:30-12:30- Lunch
 
12:30-2:00- Room Setup and Practice Time (go to your Humanities room!)

1. Finish and finalize room setup for TED Talks
   1. Sheets/curtains
   2. Lights
   3. Posters
   4. Stage space
   5. Speakers/screen/projector/clicker
   6. Tables and chairs set up
   7. Email announcements
2. Send invitation emails to your TED Talk to…
   1. Family
   2. Senior Project Advisor
   3. Any other teachers/students you would specifically like to attend
3. Practice your TED Talk
4. 2:00- Pass back papers and grades

HOMEWORK:
Senior Thesis Revisions:  Once you have received your final grade for your paper, you will have the option to rewrite it based on my comments.  Your revised paper grade will REPLACE your original grade.  However, any penalties for not meeting the page limit or for late submission will still apply.  In order for your re-submission to be accepted, you must follow the guidelines below exactly. 

1. Submitted no later than 9:30 am, Friday, April 15
2. Submit in the class inbox, or email .doc file to me.
3. Stapled, Double-sided (or emailed)
4. Submit your draft together with both your previous draft and the graded rubric
5. Your final draft must demonstrate improvement between drafts
6. Note: you'll have to 'save as' your old draft to distinguish it between the old and new!!!
7.  Important: Annotations on your final draft  are strongly recommended (it does not have to be a clean draft).  Feel free to highlight, underline, comment,  or draw arrows to specific points made, new evidence used, new phrasing etc.  Your final grade depends in a large part on your ability to show growth between drafts in the categories I have outlined in the rubric.  The easier you make it for me to see this growth, and the clearer it is, the better.
