Starter 23
Think about the project you want to do this semester for Humanities.  It must focus somehow on housing inequality or inequality in post-secondary education, and it must have some kind of an impact.

Take your starter to brainstorm today.  Use the following questions to help you get started, or to spark ideas if you get stuck!
  1. What is an idea you have for a project right now?  Describe it in detail!  If you don't have a solid idea yet, brainstorm some possibilities, talk about what interests you most about these topics, and where you're most inspired to make a difference.
  2. Who is the potential audience for your project?  How might you access that audience?
  3. What community partners might you work with?  Why? How?
  4. What skills are you going to need to develop/hone for this project idea?
  5. What materials might you need?
  6. What questions or concerns do you have about your project idea right now?

Work Time Today
  1. Interview Conferences
  2. Schedule Interview + Update Class Document
  3. Revise and finalize interview questions
  4. Complete Senior Project Poster (see below for instructions)
  5. Complete background research on your person/organization.  See below for details.

SENIOR PROJECT Poster Expectations

Using a piece of butcher paper, create a poster that includes the following.  Organize and title the different sections clearly! Use colors and symbols to add visual impact!
  1. Overview or summary of topic
  2. 2 potential research questions (questions that you are still wondering after you read your resource)
  3. 2 project ideas
  4. 1 opportunity for collaboration with a peer
  5. 1 organization that is working on this topic (local, global or national)
  6. A visual image
  7. A reflection, what is your level of excitement about this project? Explain.
  8. Next Steps (at least three) ,what do you want to look into further?

Background Research

  1. Google search your person's name and/or organization.
  2. Find at least two sources talking about them or their organization.  More is encouraged! One can be the organization's page, the other can be from anything else (I suggest looking for Durango Herald articles).
  3. For each source, take notes on the following:
    1. 3 new things you learned about this person/organization
    2. 1-2 new interview questions you want to ask them based on what you read.
